The Church's Role

he creation of the Coptic Aid Foundation is the fruit of the amazing work of God. lt all started with a simple invitation given to Mr. Philip Girgis by the late Father Rofael Nakhla to say a few words to the Church faithful.

In Egypt, I got the first push by priests and workers deeply involved with the poor. Then came the second push by His Grace Bishop Paula when granting permission to Fr. Mikhail Sobhi to work as our official representative in Egypt.

H.H. Pope Shenouda III blesses the Coptic Aid Foundation and its workers.

In 1992, I was honoured to meet three times with His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, who after thoroughly examining our services gave us his blessing in writing in Arabic and in English. Our supporters in Egypt through the years included 10 bishops, 30 priests and many workers. In 1995 and 1996, I met with His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, and in each time he renewed his blessings.
